If you’ve been following my posts you’ll know that I have this thing for “symbols” and the effect they have on us, the way we think and see the worlds around us.
I love stars. They are a perfect balance and design. For the past 16 or so years I’ve collected them around Christmas and put one (sometimes angels or interesting shape) on my front door. As you can see by the photo, I’ve almost covered half the door. This year I bought an angel, it is at the top.
As you can see they bring a feeling of whimsy and stop you in your tracks to look at them closer.
Remember, do something every day that makes you or someone else smile
Be a smile. Be a cause. Be It NOW!

I get so many forwarded emails and usually they stop with me… but this one is worth sharing with everyone. Robin Williams has a knack, a knack for relatedness and in this he relates us to the flag.
Long may we wave…
Confidence can be found in many places. One of them being in asking questions.
Questions make the world go ’round. If we didn’t have questions where would we be? Questions go hand-in-hand with wonder. Not only the wonder of question but the wonder of amazement.
Carousels bring us joy of a kind we seldom think about. The magic of the lights, movement and sound bring together three of the most important aspecs for placing an anchor for remembering an experience.
The more impressive the senses are surrounding an event determines the impact it will have on you, your reactions when it comes up again, and how it will be remembered over time.

I’ve talked about not being able to sleep… sometimes when this happens “magic in the night” shows up and gives me a boost of the wonder of being alive. Tonight was such a night for me.
It’s early, all evening I had thoughts running through my head… I’m in the mist of a change of thinking so I’ve been staying up late, early. I was just finishing my evening sitting, meditation when I heard voices outside and when I looked out, there were about 15 cyclists riding by my home… it’s 4 a.m.! Young men and women, bright front white lights and rear flashing red lights, conversation, giggles, backpacks, waterbottles, and helmets.
Insomnia can hit us at anytime in our lives. Many of us experience an occasional night of restless sleep without even worrying about it. However when it becomes a pattern of several nights in a row, we need to face the possibility that it has now become a sleeping problem and we need to change the way we daily live our life.
Loss of sleep affects all areas of our life: The physical, the mental, and the emotional. Sleep deprivation can affect our overall daily performance and may even have an effect on our personality, who can really be a happy perky person when they’ve not had enough sleep?
If these bouts of insomnia continue for a longer period of time they can cause problems in our relationships, compromise our productivity, and perhaps lead to other health problems and other forms of fatigue!
It can become a continuous trying cycle of worry and anxiety as each night we toss and turn, wondering when sleep will come, wondering what is wrong with us.
Insomnia and sleeplessness generally fall into three categories:
1. “Initial” insomnia: where we have difficulty in falling asleep, generally taking 30 minutes or longer to fall into a sleep state. Read more…
